Growster, stop playing with my mind because it's just about fried by filling in all the solicitor's forms for when we move. Having taken the first letter on the list then read downwards I just got the Alphabet but not as I know it - ha! Would you mind revising your post using Greek letters as I might just get some more sense out of it.

The rain today has primed the landscape for flooding, lets see what happens when a months rain falls over the weekend.

More seriously, this rain really is becoming dangerous!

I popped down to Hastings this morning, and there were lots of small lakes by the road, where the drains are clogged, and I hate driving through them, as there's usually a pothole lurking underneath as well! (There was also a prang near Battle, so the roundabout journey took twice as long)!

It all adds up to a bit of a mess really...

GG, my Greek went south around 1960, when I learned the alphabet, and little else, as I left the school! Can you help?

Growster, it is one of my aims in life to assist you in anyway I can.  :nowink: The word "Alphabet" comes from the first two words of the Greek letters which are alpha and beta. If you want reminding of the rest here's the link: alphabet.

As for another impending storm, last weekend the dykes on our lane were just about overtopping, and although the water lying in the surrounding fields has almost drained away I'm hoping the accompanying high tides of last week have subsided somewhat or it'll be a call to Houston as in we have a problem!

It's just reached us, I wonder if it'll help with the water, we were looking at the local rivers over the past few weeks and they are really low.

The written letters and their sounds are bad enough, but reading/writing anything in Greek is another thing altogether. Memorising a few spoken words to be polite, (only in the present tense  ::)) really isn't so bad and I could usually ask for what I wanted in a shop or the grocers/butchers after years of living there....
The trouble is nouns/names alter their spellings depending on whether they are the subject or the object in the sentence  eg: If you are calling a man called John (in English) you call him "Yanni", if you are talking about him with someone else his name is said as Yannis - and that's an easy one...
My friends were forever correcting me

We cancelled our weekend at the caravan this weekend after parts of the hard standing were flooded with Ciara last week!  >:(

Dennis is a wet lettuce not a menace!
Like a summers day owt theer at the mo. Winds that have been forcasted 60+ are dropping to 50 and the masses of rain is dropping by the hour. I can only suspect Mr Fish is now in charge of the forcasting dept!

Having postponed our allotment site care session from last Sunday afternoon to tomorrow because of Storm Ciara, we've now postponed it again for a couple of weeks because of Storm Dennis!

Third time lucky at the start of March …  ::)
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...
