Been looking at a Merry Tiller 3.5 hp. Briggs un  stratton engine.

£125 + vat.

Got a few questions.
Anyway of working out age of them?

If i can work out age what sort of age would you get for £125.

Allotment is fair overgrown an have only seen pictures of tiller, my first perception is it is lighter soil preparation and not heavy rotovation.

Are they two stroke oil/petrol mixture?

Thoughts advice etc welcomed

old  model for £125.4 stroke probably 6/7 yrs old depending on how well the machine has been looked after and the engine serviced .make sure you see it working  if it smokes heavy black /blue smoke from exaust walk away as in my book the engine is probably on its way out the smell is of burning oil .check the shaft that the tines connect to before it starts digging . it needs to be cleaned down look for oil/grease leaks on the centre bearing ( where the tines meet the frame work of the machine ) does it struggle under power when digging in.
