Well the frame is up - see the pic.
Martin just built the walls as if they were stud partitions and then nailed it all together. I stayed in the office.
All I have to do is put the plastic on. Some corrogated sheets and some salvaged from work.
A whole new world opens up, although it seems like this is the warmest autumn since 1643 or something.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

make sure you put a door in it noshed  :D also nailing plast to wood is a bit risky with the wind ,you will need some roofing batterns and nail them to your frame with the polythene between the 2 bits of timber (if you know what i mean)
when you are mooching in skips have a look for some plastic cable tray it makes great shelving you can get it upto 500mm wide thats about 20" for karl  :)
feed the soil not the plants
organicish
you learn gardening by making mistakes

Thanks for the advice shaun. There is a door - just not clear in the picture. Shelving idea sounds good.

It survived all last night's wind and rain - I was quite surprised really.
Got the guttering now to incorporate the wheely bin/water butt into the whole edifice.

Got the guttering on today - ready to fill my wheely bin. Blocked up some of the gaps along the bottom with salvaged plastic and gravel. It had ice inside the roof this morning!

Still OK - put up some more staging today. My oriental greens are coming along well. I'm thinking of planting a few carrots - got spare seed, might work.

Late Oct I put carrots in the greenhouse but nothing came up. Spuds came up but who knows whats under them. They look strange.

Bunged some compost in the beds today. And my oriental greens look great. Not sure when to plant them out though.

we had a hand full of new potatoes for our Christmas dinner. it was worth the effort i suppose. but the toms would have to come out early to have a good crop.
