After my first season of growing last year it became apparant I needed a cold frame as it was hard work taking all my seeds out of the greenhouse and then putting them back in the evening.
I went to Tatton Show last year and came across these:

Do you think it will be ok as a cold frame? I liked the idea of shelves so I can have more space.

why not if you can afford it..........they are quite easy/cheap to make though...just a thought :)

It's easy to make a cold frame out of an old box/drawer with a bit of plastic on top.
I made two out of pallet wood and window frames.
They are very handy and well worth having.

Lidel did a similar one last yr but it was made out of plastic, I think it was £19.99 I got one and it was good.

my grandad made his cold frames out of old bits of timber and window frames. thinkin back they were very good he had cucumbers etc in his, am going back 40yrs now.

Thanks for your replies. Been on youtube and seen a few ideas. My hubby made the bench in the greenhouse, guess he can tackle a cold frame.

If its in the garden you might want something a bit nice go for the one you have posted about of get something nice made up. I made a couple up last year for the side of the shed at the plot and someone asked how much i paid for them to be made :D
