There are some great different ideas in here.... for another day though, as I have my "standard" batter ready to go with the lemon juice and sugar. After a good bowl of home-made soup, of course! ;) :D

Oh F-L! :( Just saw your reply before I posted mine... Make yourself some! :D Or better still, pretend those moreish eggy, chili-spiced crumpets are pancakes.... :D

I'm the only one in our house that likes pancakes so I have just read this thread with a slight pang of envy (and a rumbly tummy!)...

Sigh!

You know where the frying pan is, get at `em. :) You don`t even need to share!

Well I hope everybody enjoys their pancakes, Paul is cooking his as I type. As it contains my most 'hated' ingredient I shall not be indulging and never have so cannot comment .

I made some batter and cooked a pancake, but was too thick when I ate it, so I added a drop more milk and cooked another pancake, and ate it......still not quite right so I repeated the process.

I finally got it right on the 4th attempt with the last of the batter They were yum though
A very good job I only started off with a small quantity

My parents enjoyed theirs this evening filled with vanilla ice-cream and topped with a small spoonful of strawberry jam.

No indigestion either (for a change!!)  ;)

I settled on a compromise. I made batter, but without sugar, and we had giant puffed up oven pancakes (yorkies) with stew. With the laft over batter I made pancakes and presented OH with four syrupy ones with vanilla ice-cream, even though he doesn't like pancakes. He says he's a convert! :D
