Title: Potato stems
Post by: ricky on July 22, 2019, 10:56
Hi my potato stems have shot up to a crazy height my Aaron victors blue potatoes are about 3 foot tall and my gold wonder are about 2 1/2 foot tall my cara spuds are just the normal size, we have an old saying over here " if you have big tops you have nothing down below" I hope this isn't the case any ideas?

What a bad year for growing anything tomatoes are very slow over here in n.Ireland little decent sun alot of rain ,just warm ole Blighty weather spraying my spuds every week alot of blight warnings , hopefully we get a late summer.

What have you been feeding them on - elephant poo?  I'd have a furtle down below or dig one up and see if they're cropping ok.
