I think so, but my kids don't.

I would try them in a big pot or bag first (similar to potatoes). Then if you like them set them free in your garden at your peril. Once planted you might never need to plant any more. They grow like weeds.
I was put on this earth to accomplish a certain number of things; right now I am so far behind I will never die.

Worth growing? yea I like them but are a required taste, a bit chestnutee. They have Inulin which is great for calcium absorbtion, there is a down side, it tends to produce lots of gas. It is also very good for your stomachs bacteria and has little effect with blood sugar, so great for diabetics.
As regards to growing they will spread so grow contained either in pots or the ground.

They also grow quite tall, at least 6', be carefull where you plant, so as not to put other things in shade.

I have tried them from another Plotter, they taste a bit nutty / spuddy. They grow like weeds and do make you produce wind from the nether region. Afterbeating then i would not grpw them.

Tried them this year, my they get tall... mice loved them so my harvest wasn't all it could be....Nutty taste is nice, make an excellent soup if you like thick soups.... won't grow them deliberately this year but they have arep for coming back...

we grew some a couple of years back, And yes, they do give you awful flatulence,
and be very careful where you put them, as it's almost impossible to stop them spreading....

Didn't like the taste personally.

Worth growing in my opinion - make great soup - echo everything said about flatus.

Some varieties are very knobbly and difficult to peel, so have a look at what you're being offered and consider how easy they would be to prepare. I grow 'fuseau' (query spelling) which is supposed to be a little smoother than most.

I was given some and grew them last year - easy to grown - got higher than the hedge and produced a lot of tubers but none of my family liked them so will not be growing them again - by choice. I half expect to have missed a couple so will probably see some pop up this year anyway!
