Will chili grow back?

Had a really healthy chili plant  (about foot tall, lots of greenery, in a pot, flower buds showing) outside during the day when the weather was good.  Pregnant wife tripped over it, taking a good few inches and leaves off the top of the stem.  She's ok, but tbh Im more worried about the plant 

Anyhow, its started growing more leaves up the stem, but doesnt seem to have increased the stem length.  There are also some flower buds now showing.  What do y'all think - will it still grow tall, or will I be left with a stunted chili plant?!
