Mini Munty Bean Frame?
« on: May 04, 2008, 08:41 »
I have got broad beans (Super Aquadulce), sugar snap peas (Norli), and peas (Markana). They are all pretty low-growing, the broad beans are the tallest at 90cm. Is it worth it to make mini Munty Bean Frames or should we just stake them? We have never grown peas or beans before so we know nothing at all about how to support them.

Stake them, the munty frame is really for climbers to make the crop easier to harvest and (apparantly) more prolific.  Most peas don't grow tall enough to benefit I think from a munty frame though some of the older varities might.  broad beans wouldn't hold on themselves so it'd be pointless.
