moving gooseberry bushes - any tips?
« on: March 10, 2013, 12:49 »
I am going to relocate them next to the blackcurrant bushes, so I can construct a net/cage over them.

Any tips for relocating gooseberries?? Is it ok to do it now? We only pruned them last week, ahem.

If you're getting regular rain (to moisten the soil), you could move them now provided you give them a big enough rootball so the roots are not stunted for this year's growth. They're a very tough plant and should easily survive a move. If they're already flowering, it might get a bit tricky.
