thanks

Wasn't being ignorant, didn't reply, simply because I've never used one,   but thinking about it I don't see why not.

I should think so as long as you have access under it when you need to pick your beans.

That's what I thought I might do, but it will make it extremely difficult to pick. so I am contemplating shoving some lettuce underneath. :)

I'm thinking the same as Aunt Sally - will it be difficult to stand under the frame with lettuce in the way?

naagh.. My raised beds only 4ft across. So I will easily be able to reach from the back or the sides. But I do like the idea of a courgette.. this could shade the roots nicely? I may give that a whirl next year.

If your Munty frame is facing south as Munty recommended then there won't be a lot of shade under it  :!:

Thanks, i also read that its good to plant them under black plastic to help keep warmth in the soil so i'm gonna try that.

I have a row of early spuds and 6 courettes under mine. Hopefully the spuds will be harvested before the courgettes get very big.

:)

if the angle is kept shallow just allowing room to pul the beans then you get shaded areas at high sun till the sun starts to dip to the west ,it can creep under some way but most things tolerate this
