newbie question - laying every second day

Hope someone can answer my question, we have four hens, only one laying. We have them 3 weeks and in the last week my layer seems to be skipping a day and then two days later she's laying a larger and double yolk egg.

Is she okay, is it a sign of any problem for her?

How old are they ?

Sometimes young hens lay double yokers takes them a while to get into the swing of things. I had one that did exactly what yours is doing she's laying more or less everyday now single yokers.

I have a hen who began laying at 21 weeks and her second egg was a double yolker and today she laid a huge egg, far larger than normal for her, and again it was a double yolker. One of the hens the same age has not laid at all yet. The other two do lay an egg a day though

22/23 weeks, she's young, only just started laying before we had her. It's just that we had 2 weeks of regular..everyday, and now she's doing the doulble yolkers. But if she's just getting the hang of it then that's fine.
