Ants in my compost bin
« on: June 23, 2007, 18:52 »
There seem to be more ants than compost material also have flying ants in there.  I have tried boiling water and apart from not wanting to make the mix too wet it doesn't seem to be getting rid of them anyway.  Any suggestions?

You could try making it hotter by adding fresh manure, grass cuttings etc and turning it. If it gets too warm they may vacate it, ant powder may work but you may kill other insects as well.
