Title: Gardening serendipity
Post by: New shoot on May 08, 2019, 21:20
I planted fresia bulbs last year and waitied ... and waited ...  ::)

It was a bit of a let down as I had followed the planting instructions to the letter, but nought happened, so in the end I emptied the pot back out.  I couldn't even find the bulbs so that was that.  I reused the compost by mixing it with other bits and bobs and using it as top dressing on some of my permanent planters.

So guess what I have just spotted flowering under my olive tree.  A single but very pretty fresia flower has appeared.  It has been mixed about in a bucket of top dressing, thrown on top of a pot any old way up and left to it.  Obviously prefers that to my careful planting the first time round

That happens all to often, I find  ::)
A month after sowing my cleome seeds still hadn't germinated, so I sowed lobelia in there - and now I have mixed plugs to plant out
