I would like to use 6x natural fertiliser on my allotment. When is the best time to apply this.
Thankyou.

I have moved this in here, so the veg growers all see it Barry :)
Personally, I don't apply fertiliser this time of year as nothing much is growing and the nutrients quickly get washed out of the soil. I dig in bulky organic matter now and save the fertiliser for the spring.
I'm sure others will be along with more advice soon :)

:)hello barry. i have used 6x for years now. it/s exellant stuff. it/s a waste if you put it on now. wait till you turn your soil in spring and rake into top surface. before planting. it also helps to break down clay. hoping this helps wrinkly1

I started using 6x last year and had the best growing year I ever had. I turned the soil over last year and forked it in also used it as a top dressing.

Two weeks before planting is my rule for things like this.

What do they do to chicken poo in 6X Natural Fertiliser to reduce its application rate so much over ordinary pelleted chicken manure?
| 6X | | Pelleted Poultry Manure |
N | 5.8% | | 4% |
P | 3.5% | | 2% |
K | 3% | | 1% |
pH | 6.8 | | 6.5-8 |
Application | 8g/m2 | | 150g/m2 |
In their blurb they say:
If your soil is heavy, 6x will open it up to avoid waterlogging – if your soil is light and ‘blow away’, 6X will hold the moisture and add ‘bulk’ to stabilise it.
This would suggest you would be better off using pelleted chicken manure as it adds more bulk.
I haven't used either so do not know what results to expect from them but since I had a weekend job in a nursery when I was at school, I've always wondered how you concentrate poo.

I'm guessing that it's drier and more compressed.............

We always use 6X as a dilute liquid manure (a few handfuls in a holey plastic bag, hung in a water butt).
The leeks can't get enough of it, especially when it's part of a cocktail with some comfrey and nettles...
