i would like to know how old a light sussex hen is when she stops laying please??

I think that all breeds of bird can vary so there is no right answer.  If yours has stopped laying it is probably down to moult, change in weather, shorter days or a combination of all.  My 4 main layers are only managing 1 egg a day and 2 if I am really lucky.

well i have 6 hens all old enough to lay and ive never had 6 eggs a day this month ive been getting 3 eggs 4 eggs and like yesterday i had 5 eggs and non of them are maulting at the moment

They don't like the wet and windy weather.  My 9 quail have gone from 8 eggs per day to 1 with the weather and the shorter days.  I don't mind though as I was getting a bit over run with eggs.  I will let them have a well earned rest and then put a light on timer to increase the hours of light to get them into lay for Christmas.

Healthy?  I would think 5-6 years easy maybe longer.
