I have just seen your pictures and I would love to know please what breed the fat buff hen with little white speckles - the second picture from the last. We are looking to augment our brood at some point next year and would love to know.

Hi Souris, I am pretty sure that Martha is a Pekin. Not sure what colour she is classed as though. I have a lavender pekin, a buff and a black and they are lovely natured. We get good eggs and they also make lovely mummies.

Thank you for that Frenchconnection - I am definitely going to add Pekins to our list of new hens to get when we augment the flock - hopefully next year!
