« on: June 16, 2011, 17:46 »
i have noticed that one on my girls keeps scrapping her beak on the floor, i have noticed it has grown a bit on one side, do i have to get it trimmed or leave her alone as long as she is eating and drinking ??

Hello there  :)
I am not an expert but what I feel is that if she is eating and drinking OK and doing all the chickeny things I would leave her.
Good Luck and keep us posted  :)

My chickens seem to do a good job of keeping their own beaks nicely filed by scraping rhem on the floor.  If your flooring is soft, you could put a brick or paver in the run so she has something a bit more solid to file her beak on.

As BN said, if she's eating and drinking fine, I wouldn't do any trimming.  It's much better if she can manage it herself.
