Would like your ideas.

Am house bound due to rta at moment so all news comes through me mate down lottie

2 Nights a go chicken found dead with its insides missing.

Presumed stoat.

Last night another victim.

Last night chickens locked in.

Possible stout got in.

Tend to think  chickens could be doing it themselves.

Any thoughts!

Depressing thinking tonight could lose another.

Started with 6 cocks 4 hens.

Light sussex breed

victim 1 hen intestines missing

victim 2 unknown rear end missing
NOT ARF !

It could be a stoat or something similar but believe it or not, the last time I had something like this happen the culprits turned out to be rats.

I put three Fenn traps down in home made wooden tunnels and caught two normal sized rats and the attacks stopped. I lost three 3/4 grown birds in two nights and they were part eaten in the same manner that you describe.
I spoke to my mate the game keeper and he told that me that once in a while you do get a group of rats that get both the taste and the knack of taking chickens.

A genuine 16"

The traps aren't set in the open but in wooden tunnels placed along side the sheds and runs so as not to catch non target species.

Fenn traps are readily available from outlets such as E Bay and I find them to be an essential tool in helping to keep my birds safe.

can I suggest that you ask someone to move the birds or even take them to an animal shelter to rehome etc otherwise any left are perhaps in for a nasty death too.

Im so sorry this has happened but think that if you can tget someone to take them away at least they wont have a similar fate.
ok so I know its a daft question but Im cute ......
