 :)Hi,

I am looking to add 2 hens to my small flock of soon to be one hen! I was really hoping to keep one of the nice old breeds like Welsummer or Rhode Island Red or similar but I can't find where to get them from.

I don't fancy hatching eggs as I don't want cockerels!

Does any one know where I can get pure bred hens, or does anyone have any for sale? I live near Towcester in Northamptonshire. I can get to Oxfordshire, or Buckinghamshire fairly easily too.

Have you thought about going to Melton Mowbray cattle martket? we go on a Tuesday morning but they do have fur and feather markets on a Saturday morning once a month. We love it my problem is I am addicted to bidding on the hatching eggs. If you want any more details let me know.

Thanks for the tips, I am following up a couple of links from the poultry suppliers. Will try Melton Mowbray if these closer ones do not come up with anything.
