hi ive 4 rir hens, a yr old and 4 appenzella hens and a silkie x about 17 wks. they are in runs opposite each other, with a gate with big gaps seperating them so they can poke there heads thru. they are simelar size and often lie near each other at the gate. if i could put them together theyd have a larger run. would it be wise to put them in together, i wouldnt want any getting hurt, or are they best seperate. also if i could poss mix them what would be the best way to do it thanx x

When you do mix them they will fight until the new pecking order is established. Just make sure that they have several feeder, drinkers and hiding places then after a couple of weeks they should be ok
