urgent advice needed

hello
 have had my chooks for 2 weeks and they are very happy in their Eglu cube and run, the problem is that I have broken my foot and have to have surgery tomorrow and my son can only visit the chooks (and me) once a day in the evening- so will it be okay to leave the pop hole open??  The run is L shaped and I have placed large paving slabs on the 'skirt'. Any advice welcome

forgot to ask - where abouts are you perhaps a fellow forum member lives nearby 

Isd it not the eglu run but a purpose built run ?

If you think the run is fox proof.  i.e.

 - Weld mesh rather than chicken wire. 

 - Roofed or over 7 ft high. 

 - Mesh skirt or burried mesh

then I think it would be ok to leave the pop hole open.

it's the eglu run so is completely enclosed and will probably have to risk it- thanks for your advice and support- will keep you posted

have you thought of asking a neighbour. I usually ask my son but recently he was away for the weekend and rather than cancel my plans I asked my neighbour. We had only recently moved here but I bit the bullet and asked (as she seemed friendly enough)  She was delighted to be asked (thankfully) and cared for them for me, as she'd formerly had a small holding of her own.  If it's only overnight it might be worth asking
