Just this evening discovered red mite in one of our houses..we thoroughly disinfect the coops every two weeks and they have their bedding changed every seven days..yet still the mites have moved in..once we treat the coops and hens will we have an ongoing problem ? will the mites be anywhere else in their static run,if so whats the treatment..sorry to be an alarmist, but keen to eradicte this problem quickly..thankyou..Lorie  xx

remove everything from their coup and then clean it out. Spray poultry shield into every nook and cranny. then when dry sprinkle on diatom - or you could make a diatom paste up and spread that paing particular attention to the perch ends. You will probably have to do all this several times (do it weekly) just to make sure you get them all. There are stronger things to kill them with but try poultry shield first.
Staffies are softer than you think.
