Wet weather
« on: February 22, 2010, 13:13 »
Hello to my chicken lovers!

I was wondering if anyone has any tips for wet weather for chickens? As we had alot of rain and i'm a bit concerned! They have there box and a meter or so roof outside to hide under. But juyst want to know if i can do anything else to help.

p.s will ducks be alright living with chickens? or do they need there own pad?

ducks will need their own coup so that they don't get pooped on from a great height by roosting chickens
My girls and boys all free range and at the moment they have several places where they can go to get dry - several old lorry wheel arches, a land rover hard top and hedging as well as their coups  :).
Staffies are softer than you think.

My ducks share a coop with the chickens and they get along just fine, although the ducks tend to sleep in the nest boxes so they don't get pooped on.

Jacobs trampoline is a great shelter for them all.  :)
