I am a newbie chicken owner and I have a sneezing chicken! She is active, alert, eating very well, affectionate and a delight but she keeps sneezing!

I am using dust extracted wood shavings and hay!

Any ideas of what it could be?

Could be cold.  Keep a close watch on her.

I might be wrong but I didn't think you are supposed to use hay. Straw is ok though. Cannot remember exactly why. Think it might have spores or something that the hens breathe in

think its cause they will eat it and could get impacted crops

DON'T use hay ! (can cause crop impaction).

DO use straw (as long as it's clean and not musty/mouldy.
