I was told to just feed him what the hens get, I have 2 at the moment that I hatched and they are thriving on the same as the rest!

I just feed layer's pellets except to my show stock and breeders and they get a higher protien blend.

With my roosters when I feed treats they always pick them up and feed them to their hens. I have to seperate them so they get some too.

I dont know if I was just lucky, but my Monty took to his new life like a duck to water. He was accepted straight away by the girls, infact they fussed over him, no fighting at all. I only had to put him in the henhouse on the first night, after that he found his way on his own. Now he leads the life of Riley and is loved so much by his hareem. They kiss him on the beak...honest. Cockerals are such characters, Im sure you'll be very pleased when you get him. Good Luck.

My cockerel gets the same as everyone else.

Drumcrow, why is your post underlined and in bold?  It's a bit in your face!   ???

Hi Drumcrow

I have added your post from Chicken Chat onto this thread :)

Chicken Chat is for basic chat about our birds, any questions in regard to health & care are best put on here :D

It is considered rude on forums to type in bold & capitals so your post has been edited to make it more friendly :D

Sarah :)

No worries Drumcrow, it's sorted now :D

How many birds have you got? Are they all Barnevelders? I have 2 Barneys an they are great birds not as friendly as the Orps but lay fantastic eggs :)

If you have any pics pop over to Chicken Chat and show them off :D
