this is the mum of the darker girl..:D


and dad who has a lovely colour anyway..



which is why one of the young girls will look a bit darker than her sister the other mum is a bit paler but is also the sister of the hen above.

I can tell by looking at the chicks who their mum is and I have only used 3 breeding hens -2  are the ones above and a third is paler and a heavier hen, her offspring is a bit chunkier, more a typical meat bird. The cockerels she throws take time to see the chestnut colouring and look a bit speckedly and odd for a while.

Jessie is gorgeous! and aren't they sweet natured, never known a fav to peck or bully and they lay well and are hardy things even get eggs in winter from them! :D

Theyare all SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO gorgeous!!!!!! I'm just thinking ahead to next year and did'nt want to get any 'Deliverance' ones!!!!! ;)....if you know what I mean!!
The lighter one of the two females....Bunty....(I loved reading that when I was a kid..........in fact I recently got 14 annuals off e-bay!!!! :oops:  :oops: ) is an absolute sweetie!...really cuddly!
I was really wondering which of the guys from the last hatch that I could run them with...Haircool or Horatio?  :lol:  :lol:  :lol:
