Obviousley the main area will be behind the goal along side of the summerhouse !! They could even join in a game of footie with the children if they fancy it.. They can even use the trampoline  :D

They'll love it - trampoline makes an excellent rain shelter

enjoy them - and ignore the kids complaints about the poo!

If you give them a designated dust bath it MAY save too many holes in the lawn.

The dust bath area would be just to the left of the shed, I'm going to throw down some builders sand and mix in some compost so they'll have quite a big area to bathe in... looking to let them out in the garden as much as I can aslong as they dont cause to much carnage !! I basically share the garden with my parents, we have an attached annexe but they are only there 3 months of the year and maybe an odd day during the week, so hopefully wont notice poop everywhere

Delivery arrived today  :D

Erected :D

Roof is damaged  :(

Informed Elbec.co.uk and they have instructed their supplier to send a new rrof  ( sorry, roof - too many vodka & cokes ) !!

My question to the you guys is - Is it big enough   :?:  2312mm x 850mm x 1270mm http://www.elbecgardenbuildings.co.uk/product.php?xProd=1788

Now its actually here and 99% erected, it doesnt look as big as I had hoped & imagined  :(

I know they will be let loose on our nice garden but I'm thinking 4 girls in this may be too tight, maybe I'm just being too generous on size.. I'm wafflling !! Please let me know what you think  :D

I think they will be fine as long as you get chickens not turkeys!!  As you say they will be out in the garden during the day so it's really only to sleep in and they do love to be wedged in next to each other.  Mine even share the same nest box waiting for one to finish before they go in.  They will love the area under the conifer hedge, mine scratch about under there and bathe in the dust

Hi Stamford,
I'm new to chooks too,& I bought exactly the same house as you.It looked lovely on the website, but when my OH put it together,I also wondered if it would be big enough for 4 RIR's (which I've heard are a larger breed)So I did some research,& after alot of umming & arring I decided I would need a bigger one.The main reason that decided it for me was the perch space.I din't think 4 large birds would be comfy on the tiny perch. So anyway,I've now got a new coop coming beginning of Aug,& I've spent far too much on my housing   but I know it will be worth it when I get them! :D  :D  :D
