new purchase has been eaten!

no not the chickens, but i bought a new fatsia plant, potted it up yesterday.  came home today to find our newest chooks have been dining off it.  its now looking rather lean.

damned little scamps! gotta love em though, these one are very affable (from warwickshire rare breed farm).  totally different from my year old hens, they don't like me coming anywhere near!

i bought a suffolk blacktail, a pied suffolk and a mendelsham blue.  they're awesome, very docile considering i've only had them a week, and they're a little possie at the moment, you find them lurking in corners avoiding the other two.

yeah not too dissimilar really, she looks a touch more ginger in the body than mine, but each bird is different.  i'll see if i can get some get some pics up in the next few days.  i tried taking some at the weekend but couldn't encourage the little dudes out of the eglu run.  but they're braver now so will persevere.

check the link below for how a suffolk blacktail should look

She is a lovely girl Judi  :D   Yes her left wing is clipped, she was a bit flighty when younger and I didn't want to have to scour the neighbours gardens for her
