This morning one of our hens could not stand up, she was laying on the ground as if both her legs were broken, her tail feathers were down too.  I put her in the 'hospital' crate in the garage with food and water. I checked her tonight, she had laid an egg ( broken and eaten) she was sitting down, I picked her up and put her back down, she stood as normal. She has eaten some of the food and had a drink of the water. I wonder what was wrong with her!

She may have had a problem laying a large of soft shelled egg, they often look poorly before laying them and fine afterwards.  I would keep an eye on her for a day or so just to be on the safe side though.
