I have had 2 POL chickens keel over and die. They both were feeding, drinking and perching and gaining weight. de loused them 2 weeks ago but not wormed them how do you tell if they have lung or gut worms

you open them up and look inside the throat down to the stomach .check the liver for white spots or any discolouring at all , the hearts for worms
if you suspect this i suggest you worm the rest of the stock .

There's no easy way to tell. You may see worms in the faeces but only in a very heavy infection. Lung worm will make the hens gape and struggle for air. All of these signs mean a bad infection and treatment or rather prevention should be taken before symptoms are seen. Look at the sticky below for full information:
