Title: Chicken sneezing/coughing. Closing eyes and tilting head up. Slight weight loss?
Post by: Ribbit on December 03, 2010, 10:46
These are all symptoms my amber star has. We have been treating her with Flubenvet as we first thought it was gapeworm. Obviously not. I suspect it is Pneumonia, we have alot of snow at the moment and it's very cold. Any advice?

sounds like she needs a trip to the vets so you can then get an appropriate antibiotic. You will need enough to treat all of the birds as the others could be harbouring the same respiratory infection.

oops forgot to say her eyelid keeps getting stuck, is this just due to the cold weather?

Thansk everyone for your suggestions, It seemed as soon as we could get to the vets (the snow melted) She was perfectly fine....Just the cold weather then, shes put on more weight and almost back to full health!
