having read your 12 tips for success  with leafy brassicas John  I found it very informative I think I'm doing things about rite so I intend to follow the 12 tips this season also is the watering agent gel  the same as we use in our hanging baskets will it be ok for veg crops?

Yes, the same gel as used in hanging baskets. Apart from my hair falling out a bit and wrinkles appearing in my skin, no ill effects so far :)

 ok John gel it is then  I also found looking through my garden diary some advise I was been given by a gardener the grows his brassicas for veg shows and its as follows

1 obviously after cultivation of the ground make a hole with a dibber
2 get some baby pampers break them up into pieces and soak them well in water and liquid fertilizer mix
3 put the wet piece of pamper down the hole and plant the in this case a cauliflower plant and cover

I've never tried this method myself but the chap who told me this seems to win quite a few prizes
with his brassicas anyway I'm just passing this info on to all who would ike to give it a go

Not sure how they'd degrade - visions of the soil with loads of bits of nappy  :ohmy:
