Title: Desperate journalism??
Post by: Aidy on January 12, 2018, 13:52
Dont know about you but I am finding the local papers at the moment are poor, in our local ther are hundeds of speling mistackes! I also find there is what I consider desperate news articles etc. This is not my local rag but it did produce a chuckle, being a chuck keeper myself.

Poor hen. I bet she felt hacked-off!! Surely journalists have a spell-check to correct typos etc? News is certainly scraping the bottom of the barrel at the moment even on TV.

When I moved up here I was warned about the local paper, lady in charity shop saying her favourite headline was Forest Fire Damages Trees. Things have marginally improved since 2004 but the margin hasn't moved that far towards good reporting.

Perhaps we need fewer papers?
