Watched a Youtube  video yesterday from an American `expert` who suggested spraying tomato plants with a solution of asprin dissolved with water. Supposed to increase vitamins, taste, growth etc.  Anyone come across this before? I wouldn`t bother even if Monty Don suggested it.

Planted out some beans with nasturtiums as companions, then weeded all the beds. The asparagus that was late coming up is now over 4ft high

After a good spray with a soapy water mix yesterday afternoon, my broad bean leaves have sort of partially blackened overnight. Doesn't exactly look fatal.....but I don't know what to think.

Saw something quite a while ago from someone who had sprayed his chilli plants with a solution made from a well known washing up liquid brand and a few hours later a number of the plants completely shed their leaves! Fortunately the plants didn't die and grew new leaves.

I have honestly never seen so many slugs and snails all over the plot as I saw this morning.
They seem especially fond of eating all my onions and lilies!  :(

Anyone else experiencing a particularly slimy year?

Yep: onion, beans and squash plants totally devastated......

It’s the dodgy weather the slugs love it and my seedlings!!
New pellets are hopeless against them this year

Day #2 of slow cooked piggy, must try to remember the stuffing and apple sauce today.

Constant rain from 1am so it's a very soggy and damp 11c but at least the wind has dropped.  We're forecast thunderstorms at lunchtime which should round things off nicely.   :(

Grey, damp after overnight rain, and 14C.
It's supposed to warm up this afternoon, fingers crossed.
