Post by: DD. on March 11, 2018, 08:29
This has popped up on my F***b*** timeline from a year ago today. This year it's barely 2" long.  :( :(

That's not good!
Mine is a bit more forward than yours, but I can't pick any boo hoo! as I moved and split it recently :(

Admittedly mine was completely overgrown with grass when we took on the plot recently, but it is also about 2 inches long, if that. In fact the longest bit of rhubarb I've got is growing out of what I thought was a bit of rotten crown that I chucked in the compost bin!

I looked at my 3 crowns behind the shed yesterday and considered picking enough for our lunch today but decided it probably needed a few more days. There are lots of stalks but none quite long enough.

My stalks are still short. They started sprouting in November, but the cold weather and snow has put the handbrake on their growth. Hopefully they'll really start up now, as I've only got enough Rhubarb left in the freeezer for one more crumble
