Title: baked potatoes
Post by: vron on May 14, 2015, 15:01
How many calories in a 100g cooked baked potato, or a 300g cooked baked potato.

Been searching for an answer but each site differs

My calorie counter from 1969 says a 200g baked spud is 170cals,  so 300g = 255 cals, (and boiled potatoes are 80 cals per 100g)

Others sites say 300g = 278cals or 279cals and even 327 cals. All very confusing.

Hope you can help me find a UK site that can enlighten me.   :D

Wonder if the differences are some are before cooking and some are after cooking?

But I thought that Weightwatchers advocated that a 100g raw potato is the same calories as a 100g baked potato, before butter or fillings.  As the only difference is that there is less water in the cooked one?

less water means the same potato, after cooking, will weigh less
