Block paving, laid over a membrane of some kind
Supposed to stop weeds
Filled with kiln dried sand about a year. ago
It's all about the journey, not the destination

Then I'd just get the hoe out every few weeks.  You can also get a tool that gets in between block paving to howk them out but basically persistence is the key.

I'll carry on using my blow torch, its quick, easy
The leaves of the weeds just curl up, go black
I'm not sure if it kills them to the roots, but they are gone, I havent seen any come back on the driveway
Plus if I use it arond plants I want to keep, I just direct the flame on to the weeds, doesnt harm the plants I want to keep
Using the round up spray can have a bit of over spray and kill plants I dont want to kill or harm
My blow torch is better than those wand things, its a proper blow torch

roundup works well in the growing season hot sunny days are best it doesn't work as good in the dormant season although I have seen it sprayed on fields to overwinter and then ploughed in come spring, I think this could be a possibly a deterrent to control black grass prior to spring sowings

For weeds I use a jet wash with a ‘dirt blaster’ spray head, it also takes out the moss from between the blocks where weed seeds can lodge. Bit messy and time consuming, but quite therapeutic.

I tried that just the once, I needed two showers to clean myself up, I then had to replace all the kiln dried sand

Simple job made difficul, never again, I'll hire some one next time

Richard Jackson sells a concentrate that Glyphosate free and biodegradable, based on a Geranium extract. There is a video on U Tube. Kills leaves and roots.  I've not used it but I have his bug killer spray and that works a treat and its organic,
Do a little but leave a lot.

I'll have a shufti and the video if I can find it

I have found most weed killers dont work well in the winter or on dull days

I think they need the sun's rays to work

But the blow torch works well in all weathers, even in the rain (just takes a little longer)

Blow torching doesn't kill the weed roots, so a lot grow back again  :(

I thought salt kills everything in the soil

Might be okay on a path or driveway, but the first drop of rain it’s gone

Odd the statement about round up not working. It works for me. I do expect to do once a month though.
