« on: November 13, 2009, 10:25 »
My blackrock Morticia is in the process of going through a molt, most of her feathers have grown back now but she now has feathers growing from between the scales on her legs it looks awfull as all the scales are raised, is this normal ?

Hmmm....  I've not heard of a black rock with leg feathers before.  How old is she ?  Are you certain she is a black rock ?

Can you post a picture of her ?  Here's how: http://chat.allotment-garden.org/index.php?topic=19476.msg100026#msg100026

Chasing Morticia around the garden in the wind and rain trying to get a decent photo wasn't easy good job my neighbours are as mad as me!!

She was bought at pol in May, these are the best photos I could get.

Hard to tell from the photo but it looks like scaly leg. Are you sure its feathers on them?

There are three signs of old age. The first is your loss of memory, the other two I forget.

Can you actually see feathers ?

I agree with Jen it could be scaly leg rather than feathers.

If it's feathers I'd just leave her alone. She should be OK.
