 I have 3 types of potatoes on my plot and have had lots of advice on when to dig them up. Is it when they flower, when the flowers die off or when they yellow.
 I am growing International kidney, Kestrel and Cara.
 Help please!!

International Kidney is a first early, generally used as a "new" spud. Eat when big enough - have a "furtle" to see what's there.

Kestrel is a second early, often grown as an early maincrop - I let mine grow to maturity, so that's when the foliage dies down.

Cara is a maincrop - as above.

I am growing Vivaldi which is a second early but can i think be treated as a first. Has any one got any experience with this variety.

I have 2 containers and am tempted to gather one after flowering and one after the leaves have died down.

Then next year I will know
