Do I have a tomato problem?
« on: June 17, 2010, 22:06 »
I've checked on my tomatoes tonight, and the ones growing in the growbags are looking decidedly dodgy.  They were looking brilliant and now the new healthy growth is curling over itself.  Photo to show, but it was dusk so not brilliant.  Any ideas?

Do the leaves look healthy except for the curling?
Cheese makes everything better.

It will be fine  :)

It may well grow out of it in a little while.  It won't affect the fruiting of the plant.

Everything looks healthyish, the new growth just looks like its curling tight under, which they weren't this morning when I pinched out.  These are my first ever tomatoes and I'm so proud, I'd hate for them to die.  (Sooooo pathetic!).

Inward curling leaves are a never a problem as Aunt Sally said.  However, I couldn't see any in that photo.

If the leaves are green and healthy then all is well.  I would check for whitefly just to be sure.

One of my varieties is doing this just now.  It looks just the same but I'm sure it will be fine  :)

Being too hot can do it......they cool off overnight....see if they're better tomorrow morning.

Thanks.  They're not quite as tightly curled this morning. ::)  I did wonder if it might be the heat.  I've situated them against a very sheltered west facing wall, and I was only mentioning last night how much heat the wall had taken in.  It was still roasting at 8:30pm.  I thought the more heat the better, am I wrong?  Should I move them to somewhere that won't get quite so hot?
