My potatoes have been in the ground about 6 weeks and I've read that they benefit from a bit of fish, blood and bone around about now but how do I apply it?

Do I make a liquid feed up or do I just chuck some on the soil surrounding the potatoes? I mixed some FB&B in with the soil while preparing the bed to plant them originally.

I apply BFB on the surface and tickle it in

My potatoes are now beginning to show and I will feed them in about two/three weeks, when they are bigger.
I sprinkle it along the rows and then hoe up.

I always try and keep the feeding material in the bottom of the drill so that the roots go down and not up. In very dry years this will help the plant survive if the roots are deep.
I have never tried the BFB but it should do the job.
