Hardy lettuce
« on: November 09, 2009, 16:58 »
I planted out Winter Density and Rouge de L'Hiver seedlings and put a cloche on them!!! Stupid me...they're hardy.... ::) and my spare plants still in the trays outside are much bigger and darker green. The butternut needs cold to turn red. :nowink:
Question is...it's now got cold...will I kill them if I remove the cloche? :(

I'm not sure to be honest, but could you acclimatise them?  Say, take the cloche off during the day and put it back on at night for a few days?  I guess you have nothing to lose.
