Buying next years seeds.

How long do seeds last? I know the packets say 2-3 years however I have heard on the plots that normal once a packet is opened then just that year and start afresh the next.

If so, as long as I dont open, I would be ok to buy seeds in the current sales that many suppliers are having now wouldn't I or is the fact they are half price an indication they will not be so great for next year?

In the main, they're fine for at least a year. Parsnips are the dodgy ones.

even seeds you have opened will be ok next year as long as they are stored well (except parsnips which probably wont be ok

keep them in the fridge in a plastic tub with a couple of those silica packets that seem to come in every piece of hardware i ever buy. They will keep fine. need to be cool and damp-free
