hi all

been at the alloment today

abit of a tidy up and digging
found out why its been so water logged as i dug down two spades i hit clay :ohmy:
so i've just been trench digging dig hole fill with some they nice rotten manure
and top with soil
got a bit more to do and that will be spud bed done :tongue2:going to build sides around  to make a raise bed then i can rake the soil flat ready for planting
got to say its a blooming pain cutting the grass layer of first 
spuds are chitting in green house and going to start the runner beans of tomorrow
spring is coming :lol: and i will sleep tonight :lol:

Good work spongebob, I also have a meadow and I agree cutting the grass off is really difficult. I'm going to tame some of mine with a tarpaulin this year and grow squashes through it.
If only we could teach the Slugs to only eat the Weeds, and then the Pigeons to only eat the Slugs!

will be covering  mine with a tarp spent most of day digging bricks and bits of wood out from grass
going to trim the grass then covering it up with tarp

Cardboard is good too. ;)
I hate grass, if it's ordinary stuff you can't get the soil off the roots and if it's couch you have to pick the roots out of the soil. Give me brambles any day!!
I demand the right to buy seed of varieties that are not "distinct, uniform and stable".
