Once again this year my courgette plants are just putting out girl flowers. I know that the boys will eventually appear but it seems such a waste!

GP's got only female flowers MoS has only male flowers . . . You don't need to start a poll, you need to start a dating service!

I have 2 courgette plants side by side in the greenhouse - Soleil F1 (Yellow) and Black Beauty (Green). Both were sown at the same time. Soleil has had loads of female and male flowers and produced 9 courgettes to date. Black Beauty has only produced male flowers to date so no courgettes. The Black Beauty courgette planted outside has produced 3 or 4 courgettes to date. There doesn't seem to be any logic to this!

Having said that they are erratic every year and then there's a glut of them
