Are these Patty Pan?
« on: September 15, 2021, 20:01 »
These were bought as courgettes at a local nursery, but as they grew I assumed they were patty pan, but was expecting them to turn yellow, but they didn’t, so I left them on the plant, but I’m convinced that they must be right?

Also, if they are, they are way too big now?

Is there anything else I can do with them at this size, if they are in fact patty’s?

I’ve added a tangerine for scale

Thanks in advance :)

When weeding, the best way to know if its a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull it.

If it comes out easy, it was a valuable plant !

Yes they're pattypans, just a bit bigger than usual. Cook as usual just maybe a little longer if you are stuffing them/cooking them whole. Otherwise cook the same as for any small squash (there are quite a few Acorn squash recipes if you Google :))
