so I'm thinking about buying a few rolls of weed control fabric but they seem to vary in price, a lot! No doubt you get what you pay for but just wondered, how long it might last and if you wonderful people have some good suggests re where to buy from or makes.

I bought some good stuff from Homebase and its quick thick and should last me a few year. I also got some cheaper stuff from B & M, and it its ok but quite thin and i think it will soon rot.
Its the first year i have used weed control fabric but am well impressed with the veg growing though it in my netting tunnel.

Within reason, you get what you pay for. The heavier duty woven fabric is better; don't bother with the lighter fabric as it will rot in a year or two.

I'd also suggest that you get wider rather than narrower material as there will be fewer edges to pin / weigh down or the wind to get underneath.

i have the 5 meter wide thick one as my plots are that wide   i get the spade an press the edges down in the soil   
now on the third yr an its still good

Don't cut the fabric with a knife of scissors use a soldering iron and they then don't fray at the edges and they last a whole lot longer.

I buy mine for fleabay the 100 g per sq m stuff.

I used some this year that is on its 5th year, it looks a bit worse for wear, but still does the job
