strawberry plants

greetings,i bought some strawberry plants from aldi last week  they are in my greenhouse and are looking good ,anybody suggest how to plant out they have some runners on them I know they wont fruit this year, thanks.

If you want to increase your plants, leave one runner on and cut the rest off as it help to maintain the plant's vigour and you get freebies.

Why are they in the gh?? they must be planted out in the bed... Plant them at the same depth as they are now .. i.e. Dont bury the crown..

I plant at 12-14" spacings. Prepare the bed well with loads of manure and compost if you have some.

Why have they got to be outside?  A lot of commercial strawberries now are grown in polytunnels, and I've grown mine in the greenhouse for 2 years as they are in a tower and get blown over if they are outside.

However, if they are going to go into a bed outside, then I would do it soonest.  They may fruit yet.  I got mine 2 years ago in May and had first strawberries late June.  Nature is amazing at times!
