I used the chitting method and got 75% germination. Then I've tried the "3 to a station" tactic for seeds but 3 weeks on nada - still not worried - yet!

Forgot to say I chit in an old plastic sandwich box.

I used the 2 seeds per station approach, into dibbed holes filled with used compost. Seed was last year's sale from Wilko's...have got about 80% germination, most stations both seeds have come up and I have thinned out the weaker. definitely happy with this method. I had fleece over this entire bed for a few weeks during the dry spell and all the root crops seemed to benefit
